Abstract
PURPOSE:To safely heat a material to be forged in good heat efficiency and a constant temp. without fluctuation by a method wherein a heating furnace apparatus for a material to be forged is constituted of an electrically conductive tube body having plural electrodes and the periphery of the said tube body is covered by a refractory heat insulating material. CONSTITUTION:A hollow longitudinal tube body 1 is made from an electrically conductive material such as stainless steel, carbon and extremely heat resistant steel and appropriate numbers of electrodes 2 and temp. sensing apparatuses 3 are arranged in an appropriate distance over a total length thereof. Moreover, a periphery of each tube body 1 is covered by refractory heat insulating materials 4, 4' with thick wall thickness to be insulated. The tube body 1 is heated by applying low voltage high electric current to electrode 2 and a material to be forged is succesively pushed into the tube body by a pusher 9 from a supply port 8 and, after heating, exhausted out of the furnace of a refractory chute 7 of an outlet 6. During working, the temp. within the tube body 1 is detected by the temp. detecting apparatuses 3 and, if a low temp. portion is detected, the electric current is increased from an electrode in the vicinity thereof to raise the temp. to an objective value. From an outlet, a forged material uniformly heated to an objective temp. is obtained.
