Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus for inspecting ignition system of automobile, which is capable of automatically detecting the number of cylinders, by counting the number of ignition pulses of all cylinders from pulses of primary voltage in the ignition system in a period of ignition pulse of a certain cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Voltage signal produced in secondary coil of the ignition system is afforded to point A, whereas voltage signal produced in primary coil is afforded to point B. Further, ignition pulses of a certain cylinder are afforded to point C. Signal at point A is furnished to data processing unit 21 via wave-form shaping unit 30, discharge maintaining time processing circuit 31a and peak-value holding circuit 31b. On the other hand, output signal of wave-form shaping circuit 22 connected to point B is furnished to counter 23 and AND-circuit 29 via data processing unit 21, circuit 31b and inverter 22a. FF26 furnished with output of point C is connected to the other input terminal of AND-circuit 29, and output of FF26 is in turn furnished to counter 23 via delay circuit 27 and also to latch circuit 24 via differentiation circuit 28.
