Abstract

PURPOSE: To flatten the distribution of surface temperature of a heating resistor, to improve recording quality and to lengthen the lifetime of a thermosensitive recording head, by providing a thin film which serves as a thermal resistance layer including a high thermal conductivity layer in a part and is located between the heater and base plate of the head.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal resistance layer 3 is mde of a low thermal conductivity material on the surface of a base plate 10 made of a high thermal conductivity material. A conical hole 21 is provided in the thermal resistance layer 3. An electrically-insulating high thermal conductivity material 11 is filled in the hole 21. A heating resistor 1 is provided on a thin layer wherein the high thermal conductivity material 11 and the thermal resistor 3 are combined with each other. Electrodes 2 are manufactured on the heating resistor 1 by evaporation. After that, a wear- resisting layer 4 is produced. As a result, heat is rapidly rransferred from the high thermal conductivity material 11 on the central part of the heating resistor 1 but is retained on the other part of the heating resistor. An input power loss is thus prevented.
