PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet roller having small diameter and high magnetic force by containing as main content magnet plumbite magnetic fine particles, extrusion molding, sintering the particles, and magnetizing a cylindrical ferrite magnet having anisotropy and less than 24mm. of outer diameter while providing desired number of poles thereat. CONSTITUTION:Predetermined amounts of water, CaO, SiO2 and methylcellulose are added to Ba ferrite particles having 1mum of mean particle size, the mixture is uniformly kneaded and extrusion molded to form a long axis cylindrical magnet having less than 24mm. of outer diameter. Then, the magnet is dried, sintered at 2,000-2,500 deg.C for 20hrs to form a ferrite magnet having anisotropy, and magnetized with 8-pole, 6-pole or the like to form a magnet roller. In this manner, it can obtain high magnetic properties such as Br>=2,400G, Bc>=1,000G to obtain a ferrite magnet roller having small size but high magnetic force adpated for an electrophotographic developing unit, magnetic cleaner, etc.
