Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the running performance of an Archimedean screwed vehicle on the ice or other uneven road surfaces by a method wherein a truck frame equipped with said screw at the lower part thereof by a shaft is suspended below a vehicle body through the intermediary of a suspension device equipped with a buffer function.
CONSTITUTION: A self-propelled vehicle E1 consists of a vehicle body 3 having a shaft-bearing part 11, a truck frame 7 having, on its upper surface, a projection 8 loosely inserted in the shaft-bearing part 11 and bearing by a shaft an Archimedean screw 1 in the lower part thereof, and a suspension device A having a buffer function composed of an elastic body 9, a damping device 10, etc. When running, the truck frame 7 can shake longitudinally and laterally around the projection 8 loosely inserted in the bearing 14 of the shaft-bearing part 11, which, together with the buffer effect of the device A, makes the left and right screws 1 follow well the uneven surface of a road even when the vehicle E1 runs on the hard uneven road surfaces, thereby a running performance, including secured straight advance, being improved.
