Abstract

PURPOSE:To weld strap and plate lug groups effectively by the procedure in which plate lug groups are always dipped in the current of fresh molten metal supplied to melt their surfaces and then a mold for casting the strap is formed and the molten metal is coagulated. CONSTITUTION:In the formation of a cast strap from the plate lug groups b-1 and b-2 of the plate group B and the molten lead (a), the grooved path 4 through which the molten metal (a) is supplied from the molten metal source 1 and circulated is provided and the plate lug groups of the plate group B are put down into the grooved path 4 from above, and also the inside of the grooved path 4 is provided with a pair of the sluice plates 12 in such a way that the strap-casting space 11 is formed on both upstream and downstream sides and the said plate lug groups are housed in the space 11. The sluice plates 12 are moved freely up and down by the piston 13 from the bottom of the grooved path 4. And, the plate lug groups are beforehand heated by the flowing molten metal (a) to cause their surfaces to melt and then a mold is formed by the sluice plates 12 to manufacture cast strap.
