Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A dihydroindole derivative of formula I or its salt [Q is 1W3C alkylene; R1 is H, lower alkyl, aralkyl, or acyl; R2 is H, aralkyl, acyl, (un)saturated lower alkylthio, or a group obtained by eliminating R2 from formula I; R3 is H, lower alkyl, aralkyl, acyloxy-lower-alkyl, or phthalimido-lower alkyl].
EXAMPLE: ( 2S )-1-( S-Benzoyl-3-mercaptopropanoyl-5, 6-diacetoxy-2, 3-dihydroindole-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester.
USE: Hypotensor which inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme.
PROCESS: The objective compound of formula III is prepared, e.g. by reacting a compound of formula II (R4 is the group obtained by eliminating H from R1) with a ractive derivative of compound of formula R5S-Q-COOH (R5 is the same as R4).
