Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a soil saving sheet from breaking by the earth pressure of reclaimed sediment by a method wherein when the inner reclamation side of a dam body is covered with the soil saving sheet, it is covered closely not to generate voids between the inner corners of step parts of the dam and the sheet.
CONSTITUTION: The upper edge 1a of a soil saving sheet 1 is fixed by a fixing member 8 on the top 7 of a dam body 2, the lower edge 1b is laid at the water bottom 9 and the reclamation side 3 on the inner side of the dam body 2 is covered with the soil saving sheet 1. Loose parts 5 protected by a protector 6 are formed on the sheet 1 and these loose parts 5 are stuck fast to the dam not so as to form voids between the sheet 1 and the inner corners 4 of the step parts of the dam body. As a result, though the earth pressure is acted on the sheet 1 in the inner corner parts 4 of the step parts of the dam body by the reclamation of the sediment, this earth pressure acts on the step parts of the dam body and no tension influences the sheet 1 and, therefore, the sheet 1 does not receive breaking force. Accordingly, outflow of the sediment caused by the breaking of the sheet 1 is prevented.
