Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the superfine powder of a devil's-tongue having particle sizes not more than 100 mesh and the same quality as that of the fine powder of a raw material of the devil's-tongue, by subjecting the fine powder of the devil's-tongue swollen with water to freeze crushing, granulation, drying, and pulverizing.
CONSTITUTION: Water is added to the fine powder of a devil's-tongue or its coarsely divided powder to give the swollen and soft powder of the devil's-tongue, which is immersed in liquid nitrogen, frozen instantly, and crushed in a nitrogen gas atomosphere at low temperatures not higher than -50°C to give its superfine powder. The prepared superfine powder is granulated by a granulator, and dried by a fluidized dryer in such a degree that the water content becomes approximately 10wt% to give dried powder, which is pulverized again in a low-temperature atmosphere at room temperatures or preferably at about -30°C.
