Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a small-sized paper feeding mechanism and to improve a reliability of the mechanism by a method wherein a paper feeding member is contacted with a paper and the paper is fed under an utilization of a rotating force of the printing wheel in a device for selectively printing the characters etc.

CONSTITUTION: A character axis 14 starts to rotate in a clockwise direction under a printing instruction to select a character. When recess parts 15a of printing cams 15 arranged at both sides of a character wheel 11 are oppositely faced to a recording paper, a platen 21 is pushed against the character wheel 11 by a spring 25 to perform a printing operation. A paper feeding laver 17 having a rubber part and a spring 19 which is pivotally mounted at a shaft 16 on the printing cam 15 is abutted against the recording paper in case of a return movement of the character wheel 11, that is, when the printing cam 15 is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction, then apt to rotate in a clockwise direction around the shaft 16, and at the same time abutted against the shaft 14 to stop its rotation, thereby a rotating force of the character wheel 14 is transmitted to the recording paper to perform a paper feeding by one line. In case that the printing cam is set in a selection process or step, the paper feeding lever 17 is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction around the shaft 16 and bo paper is fed.
