Abstract

PURPOSE:To enlarge the operation maximum frequency and also to decrease a commutation voltage by decreasing induced voltage of an AC motor in accordance as a load decreases. CONSTITUTION:A main circuit comprises a rectifying circuit 41 to control voltage on an AC motor 29, a smoothing reactor 43 and an inverter circuit 44; the AC motor 29 is subjected to variable speed control by a voltage controlling circuit 51 and a frequency controlling circuit 52. Where a mean value of load current is constant or over, a voltage reference generating circuit 53 is given a voltage set normally on a speed base 54 according to a constant V/f condition. When the motor runs on a light load at a constant speed, the mean value of the load current comes below set point 55, which is not to satisfy a commutation condition, therefore the voltage reference is weakened according to a set pattern in compliance with the load current.
