Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the S/N ratio of a photosensor and exactly detect an article having high light transmission factor by the photosensor by connecting switching means through a differentiator to the output side of a photodetector. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting diode 1 and a phototransistor 2 are facted oppositely with each other in an air gap 4 for passing an article to be detected in a transparent case 3, predetermined current is flows through the diode 1, and the diode 1 is irradiated with light. The diode 1 and the phototransistor 2 are connected through bias resistors 5, 6, respectively in parallel with each other, and a comparator 7 is connected to both terminals of a resistor 6 connected in series with the transistor 2. Then, a differentiator 8 consisting of a capacitor 9 and a resistor 10 is connected to the midpoint of the transistor 2 and the resistor 6, and is applied at its output to the comparator 7. Thus, the voltage occurred at the transistor 2 is varied according to the existence or absence of the article in the gap 4, thereby exactly detecting the article in the gap 4.
