Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability of detection of gas leakage as well as detecting the extingushing of flame while gas cock is open by a method wherein the gas flow rate in the upstream and the total amount of the gas flow rates in gas appliance instrument are compared. CONSTITUTION:A gas passage 1 consists of a fixed piping 1a and flexible hoses 1b, which are connected with gas appliances F1-Fn. A gas flow rate detector 3 is provided on a fixed piping 1a in order to detect the gas flow rate by an electric current value, while a gas flow rate detector 6 is provided on each part of the gas appliances F1-Fn. When the detected value by this flow rate detector 3 and the total amount of the detected values by other flow rate detectors 6 are compared by a control unit 10 and the difference between both detected values exceeds a specified value, supply of current to an electromagnetic valve 4 is stopped and supply of gas is suspended. It is also possible to detected the extinguishing of flame while a gas cock is open because a combustion detector 7 has been provided.
