Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise efficiency of a clutch motor which actuates clutch and brake electromagnetically, by forming its brake disk in the manner to have a surface extending inwards beyond a member incorporating a magnetic coil.
CONSTITUTION: A clutch motor transmits rotation of an input shaft (not shown) to output shaft 11 by generating magnetic flux through energization of clutch coil 5 and thereby shifting clutch ring 15 to the left in the drawing until it is forced into contact with clutch disk 2 (not shown). Here, conventional brake yoke member 8 and brake disk member 9 are combined in a unit as brake element 20, and yoke portion 20A of the brake element 20 is placed at a lower position than its disk portion 20B so as to simplify manufacture of the same. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to omit the gap formed conventionally between brake yoke 8 and brake disk 9, so that efficiency of the clutch motor can be raised considerably.
