Abstract

PURPOSE: A rubber composition, improved in maximum tensile elongation, etc. containing a resinified material which is prepared by the catalytic reaction of an aromatic-rich fraction, extracted with a solvent from a petroleum fraction of a specified average MW, with a gas containing O2 or a gas containing O2 and O3, at a specified temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Title composition is obtained by the admixture with a resinified material, which is obtained by reacting an armoatic-rich fraction, extracted from a petroleum fraction of an average MW 200W800, using a solvent such as furfural or phenol, with a gas containing O2 or a gas containing O2 and O3, at 200W380°C.
EFFECT: The addition of said resinified material to rubber reduces rolling time and largely increases the maximum tensile elongation and maximum tensile strength of said rubber composition which has been volcanized. The resinified material contains no carcinogen such as 3, 4-benzopyrene.
