Abstract

PURPOSE: A composition capable of giving cured articles having improved heat and water resistance, weatherability and mechanical properties, comprising (A) a polyfunctional cyanate or its prepolymer and (B) a hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene polymer or its hydrogenated polymer.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyfunctional cyanate of the formula R-(OCN)X (R is aromatic group linked by an aromatic or organic group; X is 2 or 3) or its prepolymer is incorporated with (B) a hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene polymer or its hydrogenated polymer. The amount of B is 0.8W1.2 equivalents calculated as hydroxyl group per cyanate group. The cyanate prepolymer preferably has a cyanate equivalent ≤ 300.
