Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize a motor by providing a through hole in the central part of the brush holder plate, by inserting one end of the brush into the hole to make it contact with a flat plate type commutator and by fixing the other end of the brush to the outside of the brush holder plate. CONSTITUTION:The through hole 14 is provided in the central part of the brush holder plate 2 that closes the end face of the motor. One end of the bow-shaped brush segment 4 is inserted into the hole 14 to make itself contact with the flat plate type commutator 5, the other end of the brush segment 4 is fixed to the connecting terminal 3 in the outside of the brush holder plate 2. In this way, the length of the motor in the axial direction can be reduced by the thickness of the brush holder plate 2 as compared with the case in which the brush segment is fixed to the inside of the brush holder plate 2.
