Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the variation in twisting, e.g. slight twisting in starting the operation or hard twisting in stopping, by controlling the twist-forming speed in the twisting zone at a value corresponding to the rotational speed of a spindle in starting or stopping a double twisting unit. CONSTITUTION:In starting a double twisting unit, a twisting yarn is ballooned while controlling the running speed of the yarn in the twist-forming zone at a value substantially corresponding to the rotational speed of the spindle 20. Preferably, the path between the guide 10 and transfer mechanism 13 is shortened. In stopping the unit, the balloon is eliminated while controlling the running speed of the yarn in the zone at a value substantially corresponding to the rotational speed of the spindle 20. In this case, the path is preferably lengthened. The path is changed by the dancing roll displacement control element 24.
