Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a polypropylene composite film one surface of which has excellent heat sealability and the other surface of which has excellent affinity for printing inks, etc., by treating a propylene film having a lamination of a low-melting resin on one surface, with corona discharge in a nitrogen atmosphere having an oxygen content equal to or lower than a specific level. CONSTITUTION:A composite film prepared by laminating one surface of a polypropylene film with a low-melting resin is subjected to corona discharge treatment, while at least one surface of the composite film is kept in a nitrogen atmosphere having as oxygen content of below 5vol%. A particularly preferred example of said low-melting resin is an ethylene/propylene random copolymer having an ethylene content of 1-7wt%. In conducting the corona discharge treatment of the composite film, a manner in which both surfaces of the film are kept in a nitrogen atmosphere having an oxygen content of below 5vol% is preferred, because almost no lowering in the heat sealability occurs under such conditions.
