Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:6,6'-0,0'(Azobenzenedicarbonyl)cycloamylose of the formula (wherein CD is α-, β-, or γ-cyclodextrin).
EXAMPLE: 6,6'-0,0'-(Azobenzenedicarbonyl)cycloheptaamylose.
USE: Filler for liquid chromatography, and microcapsule.
PREPARATION: Bis(chlorocarbonyl)azobenzene or bis(bromocarbonyl)azobenzene is reacted with α-, β-, or γ-cyclodexyrin under an anhydrous condition in the presence of a dehydrohalogenating agent at a temp. of -10W50°C for 1W70hr. It is possible to control clathrate capability by trans-cis isomerization of azobenzene gp. by the irradiation of 6,6'-0,0'-(azobenzenedicarbonyl)cycloamylose with light.
