Abstract

CONSTITUTION: After the pH of an aqueous cyanometal complex solution is adjusted to 8W12 (pref. 10W11.5), sodium chlorite is added to decompose the said cyanometal complex by oxidation and the said cyanometal complex is converted to harmless carbon compound, oxides of nitrogen and metal or the like. By the above described reaction, because sodium chlorite is extinguished, sodium chlorite is added and reacted until the extinguishment is not generated and, moreover, the pH of a solution during reaction is maintained to a predetermined value by adding an appropriate amount of sodium hydroxide.
