Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title glass consisting mainly of SiO2, TiO2, CaO, ZnO and R2O of each specified content, having a refractive index of 1.55 or more, an Abbe's no. of 48 or more, a specific gravity of 2.90 or less and superior chemical durability, and capable of removing ultraviolet rays.
CONSTITUTION: This optical glass for an optical path has a compsn. consisting of, by wt., SiO2 55W65%, B2O3 0W10%, TiO2 1W5%, CaO 5W20%, ZnO 3W20%, Al2O3 0W4%, one or more kinds of R2O (R2O is Li2O, Na2O and K2O), ZrO2 0W5% and As2O3 0W1%. In this invention about 5wt% of less of MgO, SrO, BaO, etc. may be contained in the glass compsn. in view of circumstances in glass production.
