Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture conventional laver sheets, continuously, in large quantities, by the use of a laver sheet manufacturing device which comprises an endless continuous laver-manufacturing screen circulating through a laver-making machine, a dehydrating machine, a drying chamber, a container, and a washing machine, wherein said screen is held in a zig-zag form with a number of supporting frames in the drying chamber.

CONSTITUTION: An endless, continuous laver-manufacturing screen 7 composed of a number of weft reeds and warp strands, and having crosswise protrusions 12 at regular intervals, is circulated through a laver-making machine 10, a dehydrating machine 11, a drying chamber 1, a laver-sheet peeling machine 8 and a washing machine 9. A pair of chains 4, 4 each having a number of U-shaped supporting frames 5 provided with supporting protrusions 6, 6, are stretched between a slowly and intermittently rotating sprochet wheel 3 placed at the inner part of the drying chamber 1 and a chain-deflection roller 2 placed at the outlet part of the chamber 1, and transferred along the direction of the arrow. The protrusions 12 of the screen 7 are held with swivellable clamps 17, and transferred along the guides 15. When the protrusions 12 of the screen 7 are brought into contact with supporting protrusions 6, 6 they are fastened with said supporting protrusions, and the unfastened middle part of the screen is supported with a supporting frame 5 to hold the screen in a zig-zag shape.
