Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the structure of power plant small, by causing forced ventilation of combustion gas through disposition of a fan driven by a portion of output of an expander in a passage for discharging combustion gas, and thereby increasing the heat transfer rate on the side of combustion gas greatly and thus increasing the overall coefficient of heat transfer.
CONSTITUTION: This power plant is composed of an expander 7, a condenser 8, a pump 9, a generator 10, a burner 11 and a combustion chamber 12. In addition to the above, a fan 13 is fixed to one of output shafts of the expander 7 extended on the opposite sides thereof and it is disposed in passage 14 for discharging combustion gas. Since, with such an arrangement, forced ventilation of exhaust gas is caused during steady operation of the plant, heat transfer rate on the side of combustion gas is increased greatly, which is effective in increasing the overall coefficient of heat transfer. Therefore, heat transfer area of generator 10 can be reduced as compared with the conventional sytem utilizing natural convection.
