Abstract
PURPOSE: Gas generator is operated under a Rankine cycle, all the expansion works from the combustion gas are taken out as a positive output without being applied in the compression work of a negative one and thereby the fuel is saved.
CONSTITUTION: Waste heat recovery boiler 9 is arranged in an exhaust system of the gas turbine 6, water is heated by the discharged heat to generate some vapour, the steam turbine 2 is rotated by over-heated steam to drive the compressor 1 coaxially mounted with the steam turbine 2, and thereby the air is compressed, all expansion work is changed to the output from the gas turbine 6 in response to a heating of the compressed air. That is, as apparent from PV diagram, the compressor work of area 1-1'-2'-2 is accommodated by Rankine cycle (cycle ranging from the pump 12, heat receiving pipe 10, over-heat pipe 5, steam turbine 2 and cooler 11), so that a net output from the gas turbine 6 is made as the area 1'-2'-3-4, the output is excessively increased and thereby the fuel consumption is largely reduced or saved.
