Abstract

PURPOSE: To control macro-structure and centrifugally cast the heat-resisting or corrosion-resistant cast steel pipe of improved creep damage characteristic by casting the steel pipe while giving vibrations to heat-resisting or corrosion-resistant molten metal.
CONSTITUTION: The heat-resisting or corrosion-resistant molten steel in the mold is solidified while vibrations are being given to the mold by generating vibrations by the gravity balances of the mold itself through, e.g., by deviating the same, or deviating the outside circumferential surface of the roller receiving parts of the mold and the inside circumferential surface of the mold body. By suitably controlling these vibration conditions, the ratio of the columnar crystals on the outside surface side of the cast pipe and the fine granular crystals on the inside surface side is suitably controlled, by which the progression of the cracks from the inside surface side of the cast pipe is inhibited and the creep damage characteristic improved.
