Abstract

PURPOSE: To deodorize malodorous gas efficiently by means of a small-sized device by a method wherein malodorous gas adsorbing chemicals are intermittently atomized in parallel with a gas stream for a fixed time and let pass through an activated carbon layer with the malodorous gas when the malodorous gas is deodorized by means of an activated carbon adsorbing method.
CONSTITUTION: Activated carbon 4 is filled into an adsorbing reaction tower 1 of malodorous gas, and sprays 5 are mounted at the upper stream side in a gas stream. The sprays 5 are installed which atomize alkaline chemicals such as NaOH, Na2CO3, etc. when malodorous components in the gas are acidic gas such as H2S, etc.; the sprays 5 are disposed which atomize acidic chemicals such as H2SO4, HCl, etc. when the malodorous components are alkaline gas such as NH3, (CH3)3N, etc. The gas 2 containing the malodorous components is heated at a temperature of 100°C or less by means of a preheater 9, and let pass in the activated carbon 4 with the chemicals from the sprays 5. The concentration of the chemicals at that time is approximate 1W20wt% and the temperature is approximate 50W 70°C, and the chemicals after deodorizing a malodor are adsorbed to the activated carbon, discharged outside a device by means of a discharge valve 8, and again regenerated and reused as a treating liquid.
