Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a consumed power and improve the printing quality by dividing by time and driving each recording block of ink jet heads on driving the heads divided and arranged for blocks. CONSTITUTION:A multi-orifice array is formed by combining thermal jet nozzle blocks 4J1...4J13, while signal input terminals D1-D56 and P1-P32 for driving the blocks being connected to a partitioning-by-time driving circuit through a flexible print plate. The partitioning-by-time driving circuit does not drive 32 nozzles simultaneously, but drive, for instance, 4 nozzles every 8, thereby 4 dots being printed. Next 4 dots adjacent by one dot are printed and this process is repeated sequentially 8 times, thus the line-formed printing of 32 dots is completed. Since the simul- taneous flying of liquid drips by nozzles adjacent to each other is avoided, mutual interference between liquid drips is eliminated, thus stabilized printing is performed.
