Abstract

PURPOSE:To regulate the velocities of ink droplets at an equal value and enhance printing quality by impressing a variable voltage on a piezoelectric element for each nozzle, in the multinozzle type ink jet recorder. CONSTITUTION:Liquid chambers 2 formed in the cylindrical piezoelectric elements 1 are connected to the nozzles 5 through ink passage 4 on one side thereof and are connected to a common ink feed chamber 7 through ink feed passages 3 on the other side thereof, to constitute the ink jet recorder of the drop-on-demand type. In the gaid recorder, the voltage at the emitter-follower output stage of a transistor Q1 in the driving circuit is divided by a variable resister R2 and a fixed resister R0, and the thus obtained voltage V0 is impressed on the piezoelectric element 1 for each nozzle. Accordingly, since the voltage impressed on the piezoelectric element 1 for each nozzle can be controlled separately by changing the resister R2, the velocities of the ink droplets jetted from plural nozzle can be regulated at a fixed valve. In addition, the rise time of the driving waveform can be regulated by a variable resister R3.
