Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the electric resistance of a metallic magnetic powder without losing its magnetic characteristics by coating the particle surface of the magnetic powder with an inorganic insulating layer, coating the insulating layer with an organic insulating layer and pressure molding the magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:0.5wt% Of water-glass of aqueous solvent is added as an inorganic insulating agent to pure iron powder having a mean grain size of 200mum, the mixture is mixed, dried, 0.5wt% of phenol resin of thinner solvent is added as an organic insulating binder to the mixture, and the mixture is mixed and dried. After this drying step, 0.1wt% of zinc stearate is added as a lubricant to the mixture, the mixture is mixed and pressure molded in a ring shape to form a dust core.
