Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a magnetic recording medium for high-density recording which is superior in vertical orientation, by coating a plane plate-form magnetic material, which has the magnetization easy axis in the plane plate face vertical direction, onto a base substance and by subjecting the magnetic material to the roll processing while applying a magnetic field in the substance face vertical direction.
CONSTITUTION: One axis-anisotropic magnetic powder of a particle diameter of approximately 1W0.01μ which has a plane plate form and has the magnetization easy axis in the plate face vertical direction, a binder, and a solvent are mixed to form magnetic coating liquid of a viscosity of approximately 100W10,000 centipoises.
