Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic recording medium which is excellent in sensitivity and transfer efficiency, and suitable for high density recording, by properly mixing large and small particles of needle-like ferromagnetic metallic powder in case of its use.
CONSTITUTION: At the first magnetic paint is prepared by mixing together with bonding material and stirring 40W80wt% of needle-like ferromagnetic metallic powder whose particle length is 0.1W0.3μ on the average and 60W20wt% of needle- like ferromagnetic metallic powder whose particle length is 0.4W0.8μ on the average, and a magnetic recording medium can be obtained by applying the foregoing on the supporting substance and hardening it.
