Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve smooth universality of a chain travelling on a twisted path and minimize the noise generation, by providing an elastic member between each inside chain plate and its corresponding chain roller to push both its respective inside and outside plates outwards, thereby causing said plates to tightly contact with their preceding or subsequent inside and outside plates.

CONSTITUTION: Each chain plate 1 is so designed that a connection lug 2 extrudes from the upper side and connection holes 4 of a large diameter are drilled therethrough adjacent the both sides. Chain plates 1 are connected by inserting a connection pin 3 through the connection holes 4 of each two adjacent plates to make up an endless chain 5 which can be freely twisted. An elastic member 6, interposed between each inside plate 1a and its corresponding chain roller 7 which is fit on its respective connection pin 3, urges the plate 1a against its corresponding outside chain plate 1b tightly. The chain 5 exhibits a high degree of universality because the chain forms the connection holes 4 whose diameters are larger than those of the connection pins 3, and it can be smoothly moved due to the pressures of the elastic members 6.
