Abstract

PURPOSE:An appropriate amount of air is blown onto the controller in comb- carding operation at an adequate angle, thus almost completely preventing sliver from wrapping on the controller and iincreasing the operation efficiency of the facility and the product quality. CONSTITUTION:Airpipes D and D' are provided for preventing sliver from wrapping on first top controller A and first bottom controller A' respectively. Pipes D and D' have the same shape and size and have slit K for jetting air on the bottom of almost the same length as of the sliver width. The jetted air forms an air cartain (a) with the same width as that of the controllers and is blown in parallel to the line of the sliver removal on the position just before the needles of the controllers leave the sliver 1 in the direction reverse to the revolution of the controller. The amount of the air blown is adjusted to the minimum in which the sliver fibers can be removed from the needles.
