Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain higher reliable junctions by increasing the bonding strength between lug portion between strap portion by the procedure in which an adequate dimension and shape of holes are beforehand provided in the lug portion of electrode plate and then the lug portion is jointed with molten lead to form the strap portion. CONSTITUTION:An adequate dimension and shape of the holes 8 are provided in the lug portion 4 of the electrode plate immediately before joining, and then a plate group is interted into the cast mold 2 and molten lead or lead alloy is soon cast into the mold 2 while the inside surfaces of the holes 8 have clean metal surface. Thus, the molten lead intrudes into the holes 8 in the direction of arrow mark and then completely fuses with the lug portion and solidifies to form the good strap portion 6 of a structure in which the holes 8 are wedged with lead. Thus, the bonding strength between the lug portion and the strap portion can be raised and a highly reliable junction can therefore be obtained.
