Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the wet resistance, durability and image characteristics of a receptor by forming a photoconductive layer with a fluorine-containing surfactant added on a support to enhance the dispersibility of photoconductor particles.
CONSTITUTION: Polyethylene, a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer or other resin is blended with a fluorine-type surfactant containing a highly fluorinated long chain alkyl group, e.g., a compound represented by the formula (where R is alkyl or allyl) to form a binder. About 0.01W30pts.wt. of this binder are added to 100pts.wt. of a photoconductor such as zinc oxide or vinylcarbazole and coated onto a support to form an about 5W100μ thick photoconductive layer. The electric resistance of this layer in the dark is preferably about 1012W1014Ωcm.
