Abstract

PURPOSE:The title cosmetic prepared by forming a film of gel from a combination of (A) the first component sol, obtained through addition of a specific lactate to an aqueous polyvinylalcohol, with (B) the second component sol, obtained through addition of borax to an aqueous solution of sodium alginate, etc. CONSTITUTION:A bivalent metal lactate or chloride is added to an aqueous polyvinyl alcohol to form a sol as the first component (A). Borax is added to an aqueous solution of Na or K or ethanolamine salt of alginic acid to form a sol as the second component (B). The first component (A) is applied to the skin to form a film, to which the second component (B) is applied. The components (A) and (B) are gelatinized to give a pack cosmetic at a high film formation rate because of the reaction of both. The film can be readily stripped from the skin by fingertips. The gel film of (A) has a great hydration ability, and retains the gel state for a long time without drying.
