Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain sufficient oil film at slow operation and moreover to prevent the lowering of bearing load capacity at rated operation by forming an oil pocket on the bearing load surface and providing there an oil supply port as well as an oil exhaust port.
CONSTITUTION: When an oil lifter is put in operation at slow operation, high pressure oil is supplied from a piping 44 and this high pressure oil is supplied from a fluid throttling 40, which is an oil supply port, into an oil pocket 38 to form oil film with fixed thickness around a bearing. In this case, the oil pocket is provided with a sufficient area compared with the former static pressure pocket so that the oil film formation at the slow operation is made easy thus enabling to prevent damage of the bearing by a fire. On the other hand the oil lifter is not required to work at the time of fixed operation and the piping 44 is cut from the connection with the high pressure oil supply source, consequently the lubricating oil in the oil pocket 38 is exhausted through a check valve 46, the oil film pressure within the pocket 38 becomes almost zero and the oil film thickness decreases thus preventing the oil whipping.
