Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect a superconductive wire from damage, deformation and snapping and prevent the deterioration in its properties, by tightly fitting the superconductive wire in the coiling recesses provided on winding frames and by overlapping the winding frames on one another. CONSTITUTION:A hollow superconductive wire is tightly fitted in the coiling recesses 13 of a plate-shaped winding frame 12. Such fitted superconductive wires are located adjacently to one another in an axial direction so that a superconductive coil 15 is formed. Since the coiling recesses 13 are provided on both the sides of each winding frame 12, the superconductive wires 10 are overlapped on one another between the adjacent winding frames in the axial direction of the coil. As a result, the radial component of an electromagnetic force caused by the wires is all directly corried by the winding frames but a portion of the axial component is not directly carried by the winding frames but carried by the adjacent wires. For this reason, the winding frames except for the central one are provided with the recesses 13 on only their sides facing the outside in the axial direction. According to this constitution, the wires 10 in the recesses 13 are all directly supported by the winding frames both in the radial direction nd in the axial direction.
