PURPOSE:To provide a pressure-sensitive coloring sheet of excellent resistance to water, weather, fading, etc. by causing a phenol to be completely uniformly contained in emulsified polymer grains by an emulsion polymerization method, and using the resultant polymer as a coloring agnet. CONSTITUTION:A phenol such as p-phenylphenol is dissolved in a monomer such as (meth)acrylic acid (methyl ester), preferably, shown by the formula where R1 denotes H or 1-3C alkyl and R2 denotes H or 1-12C alkyl. The monomer is polymerized at 0-100 deg.C, for example, in the presence of water, a nonionic surfactant, a radical polymerization initiator, etc., thereby obtaining an emulsified polymer in which the phenol is uniformly contained. The polymer is coated as a coloring agent on paper or the like to manufacture an objective pressure-sensitive coloring sheet. EFFECT:Work ability is improved. Fire hazard is reduced.
