PURPOSE:To obtain the highest output and lowest specific fuel consumption over the whole operation range, and to prevent knocking by a method wherein ignition timing of an engine is controlled in such a manner that the timing is more delayed as turbo-supercharging is increased by the pressure in a suction channel at the time of turbo-supercharging. CONSTITUTION:The ignition timing of an engine is controlled by the centrifugal control mechanism 17 in a distributor 15 against the revolutions of an engine. In an area where the opening of a throttle valve 11 is small, the revolution of a turbo- supercharger 4 is slow, and no supercharging is conducted by the turbosupercharger 4. If the throttle valve 11 is opned, the turbo-supercharger 4 is sufficiently driven, revolved and moved to have a supercharged state. The diaphragm in an operating mechanism 24 is pressed, and the ignition timing in the engine is delayed and controlled.
