Abstract

PURPOSE: A gas-granule heat exchanger of a compact construction, wherein the hour of retaining the granule in a gas is made long, thereby to increase the heat transfer quantity per unit volume and improve the efficiency of the heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: A gas generated from a combustion device or a heating gas is introduced froma gas inlet pipe 15 through a connecting pipe 5 in the tangential direction into a turning chamber 4. The thus introduced gas is converted into a strong turning stream, and rises up as a strong turning jet by the throttling effect of the nozzle part 3. However, since the nozzle part 3 is expanded smoothly and divergently, the turning stream of gas rises up along the oblique surface without being exfoliated from the wall surface. The granule which has been supplied is dispersed to the oblique surface of the nozzle part. At the intermediate part of a main heat exchanging part 2, there is provided a turning dispersing plate 8 consisting of a central dispersing member 8' and a turning vane 8", which plate 8 supplements the turning force of the turning gas rising up within the main heat exchanging part 2 by the turning vane 8'thereby to improve the dispersion of granules and further increase the efficiency of the gas-granule heat exchange.
