Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve efficiency and dispense with adjustement, by providing a voltage feedback circuit with an ultrasonic element and driving the element at anti- resonance frequency. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic sensor 1 has an ultrasonic element 2 which generates an ultransonic wave of prescribed frequency and receives the ultrasonic wave which is transmitted and reflected. A phase inversion amplifier 5 is composed of transistors Q1, Q3. The voltage across the ultrasonic element 2 is applied to the base of the transistor Q3 to perform positive feedback. The element 2 is driven at its anti- resonance frequency and emits the ultrasonic wave of the frequency. When a pulse voltage is applied to a terminal 4, a transistor Q2 is turned on or off and the element 2 emits the wave of frequency Rfo. One output terminal of the element 2 is connected to an amplifier 3 through a resistor R3 so that the element 2 is used as a receiver which receives the reflected wave when the transistor Q2 is open. Efficient oscillation and receiving action not required of adjustment can thus be performed by using the element 2.
