Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable an accurate measurement of temperature by measuring the highest and lowest temperatures of a material to be measured, on the basis of radiation energy detected from each part of the measured material such as high alloy steel to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:Radiation energy from each part of steel material 2, measured material, is converted by detector 11 into an electric signal, which is applied to peak holding circuit 14 via linearizer 13. Once applied with this signal, circuit 14 sections the input signal by constant time intervals on the bais of a signal from control circuit 17 and then holds and outputs the peak value in each section. The signal obtained from this circuit 14 is digitized and applied to maximum temperature detection circuit 23 and minimum temperature detection circuit 30. When a measurement of temperature of overall steel material 2 ends by circuits 23 and 30, the maximum value and minimum value are stored in memory circuits 26 and 33 respectively and then displayed on display units 27 and 34. Here, the time interval of clock pulse controlling the above-mentioned circuit 17 is set greater than a scale and drop of water 3 on the surface of steel material 2, so that the accurate measurement of temperature will be brought to effect.
