Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacturing of an electromagnetic converter, by bringing a molten magnetic metal into contact with the surface of a rotating roll or belt to solidify the metal and produce a thin metal sheet, using the thin metal sheet for the electromagnetic converter. CONSTITUTION:A molten alloy such as Fe-Co-Cr, Fe-Ni-Cr or Fe-Ni-Co-Cr is supplied onto the surface of a rapidly rotating roll-shaped cooling body through a nozzle. The molten metal is then changed into a thin magnetic metal band by a single-roll method for cooling and solidification. The thin band is punched. The punched pieces are laminated to make an E-shaped or I-shaped core for a transformer or the like. As a result, after-annealing is simplified or not needed, the cost is reduced and the thickness is diminished to 20mum. Therefore, a compact unit is manufactured.
