Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve resistances to heat, humidity and styrene, by prescribing the insulating material of varnish and coil bobbin and the surface treatment material of a coiled wire of a discharge lamp stabilizer or the like. CONSTITUTION:A coil 3 is provided around a bobbin 2 on a shell-type core 1 comprising an E-shaped and a T-shaped cores. The coil 3 is secured on a mount 4 by core calking portions 7. The exposed portion of the coil 3 is fitted with coil covers 5 by tongue pieces 8. A discharge lamp stabilizer is thus constituted. The bobbin 2 is made of a material which contains 30% or more of fiberglass such as polybutylene terephthalate or polyphenylene oxide and has a higher softening point than nylon 6. 6. The surface of the coil 3 is treated with an insulating material such as denatured polyester, amidoimide, ester imide or nylon-overcoated polyester, which has a styrene-resisting property and a higher heat-resisting property than polyester. The surface of the coil 3 is then impregnated with varnish of ester imide, polyester or the like.
