Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a light weight sailboat by constituting a mast substantially with carbon fiber reinforced plastic provided with carbon fibers extending axially as a reinforced fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A mast 4 is hollow cylindrical, which is constituted with carbon fiber reinforced plastic material substantially. An axial carbon fiber reinforced plastic layer 20 is arranged axially to the mast 4, which is thick at portions longitudinal to a hull and thin in the direction athwartships. A sail groove member 35 of aluminum alloy is provided axially on the rear side of the mast 4, and a main sail 19 is mounted thereon.
