Abstract

A mast head swivel for furling a jib sail comprises a fixed i.e. non- rotatable portion having an aperture 17 therethrough for receiving a halyard for connection to the head of the sail by way of a swivel connection. The fixed portion of the mast head swivel supports a rotatable portion 15 for connection by one or more fore-stays 11 to a winding arrangement secured to the deck of the craft. The rotatable portion is provided either with two diametrically opposed mountings for the attachment of a pair of parallel forestays or has welded to it a stirrup to which a single forestay is connected. <IMAGE>
