Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress noise occurrence through avoiding a sudden throttle and also to secure a necessary quantity of hydraulic fluid by throttling a flow of the hydraulic fluid fed to a power steering with two orifices in two steps.
CONSTITUTION: A power piston 29 is fitted slidably in the interior of a booster body 28, an opening on one end is closed with an end cover 30, and a operating rod 31 is fitted slidably and fluid-tightly with O ring 32 in an opening on the other end. A slit 4 is provided peripherally on the end of boosting chamber 45 side of the piston 29, the slit 4 is put through to a slot 29e through the first orifice 2 and also to a slot 29f through the second orifice. A flow of the hydraulic fluid fed to a steering 18 is throttled with the orifices 2, 5 in the two steps, and the hydraulic fluid is allowed to flow to the steering 18 by way of the slit 4 on the piston 29, therefore the piston 29 can be supported floatably to the body 28. A sliding motion of the piston 29 can be smoothed consequently.
