Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the work of air bleed to be easily performed even for a hydraulic cylinder with feed-return ports of the operating fluid at its bottom portion, by forming a annular groove on the periphery of a plug body to be fitted into an opening end part of the cylinder main unit and permitting the port for feeding and returning the operating fluid to the hydraulic pressure chamber to be communicated with the annular groove.
CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic cylinder 10 comprises a cylinder main unit 11 with openings at its both ends. The both end openings of the cylinder main unit 11 are closed by plug bodies 12, 16 respectively. While a piston assembly unit 18 slidably moving in the cylinder main unit 11 is fixed to a rack shaft 19 to divide the interior of the cylinder main unit 11 into two hydraulic pressure chambers 20, 21. Here on the periphery of an end part of the plug body 12 is provided an annular groove 23 linked to a port 22 that feeds and returns the operating fluid to/from the hydraulic pressure chamber 20, and on its top end a notch 24 is formed. While on the periphery of an end part of the plug body 16 is also provided a ring-shaped groove 26 communicated with a port 25 for feeding and returning the operating fluid to the hydraulic pressure chamber 21, and on its top end an annular passage 27 is constructed. In this way, the air accumulated in the hydraulic pressure chambers 20, 21 can be discharged.
